Wednesday, May 5th - Important Notice

To All,

It saddens me to announce that after sixteen years as Coordinator, hundreds of hours spent each season running the League, and ten years previously as the St. Francis of Assisi Braintree basketball Coach, I have been removed from the SSPSL Coordinator position by the ONE Office. This occurred during a phone call with Peter Williams last night, Tuesday, May 3rd.

The reason why remains somewhat unclear to me, other than being told that many of the Schools, Administrators, and Coaches were unhappy with the way the League was being run. Apparently, the feeling was that I wasn't meeting the needs of those involved in the league. Also, even though we had over eighty games cancelled because of weather and twelve games that couldn't be rescheduled, I somehow didn't cancel enough games.

Peter alluded to the possibility of other concerns, but wouldn't discuss them with me. I believe this may also have something to do with the perception that my family is benefiting from the league. My family and I have done nothing but give to this league over the years, so it is unfortunate that anyone is thinking otherwise.

In closing, I wanted to say it's been an honor and privilege to have been involved with the Schools, Administrators, Coaches and Players within SSPSL and wish you all continued success.
