Looks like we are set and ready for our Cheerleader Competition tomorrow, doors will be open at 12:30 PM. Also, looks like we are going to have a couple good Championship Games tomorrow that will follow the Cheerleaders. We hope to see everyone there.

1:25 PM - State Tournament

We have been informed that three teams, from both the Boys and Girls 5-6 Grade Divisions, have been invited to the State Tournament. The State Tournament is set to begin on Saturday, March 6th. That is all we know so far, but as soon as we have more information we will post it here. The 5-6 Grade teams moving on will be:

8:40 PM - Playoff Game Changes

There are a couple game changes for the first round of the playoffs this week. Please take note, the changes are as follows:

• Girls 7-8 Senior: Holy Family vs St. Francis (Wey) will now be played on Thursday, February 25th @ 7:30 PM.
• Boys 7-8 Senior: Holy Family vs St. Francis (Wey) will now be played on Tuesday, February 23rd @ 8:00 PM.

11:00 PM - Playoff Date Change

We have been informed that the Archbishop Williams Girls Varsity will be hosting a Home Tournament game on Monday, February 22nd. This has forced us to moved the Girls 1st Round Games from Monday to Tuesday, February 23rd. Times and Location remain the same.

Don't forget the All-Star Day is coming up this Sunday, February 21st. Doors open at 12:30 PM, with the first game to start at 1:00 PM. We will see everyone there!

Please be aware the there is a Winter Storm Watch for tomorrow. As of now ALL games for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 10th WILL be played as planned. We will be monitoring the weather throughout today and into tomorrow, and will cancel games by Noon tomorrow if it becomes necessary. New England weather can change often so please do not cancel any games prematurely.

1:00 PM - School Closing

We are sad to hear that St. Ann's School in Quincy will be closing at the end of the school year. Three schools in Quincy (including St. Ann's) will be closed and combined to create Quincy Catholic Academy. The new school will open starting in September. We do not know if the new school will be having a basketball program, and will have to wait see what comes of the changes being made. (Source: Patriot Ledger)

11:40 PM - Uniform Rule

This rule applies to shirts worn underneath uniforms, and should be followed at all times. Coaches please ensure your players are aware of this rule and that they are properly dressed for games:

• "Undershirts shall be a single solid color similar to the torso of the jersey and shall be hammed and not have frayed or ragged edges. If the undershirt has sleeves, they shall be the same length. A visible manufacturer's logo/trademark/reference is not permitted on the undershirt."

10:00 PM - Website Bug Fix

The problem with the Hover Buttons on the site has been fixed. Now older browsers should be able to see the Drop-Down menus. You should now have access to pages that previously could not be seen, including Standings for the various divisions (not just the Boys 7-8 Senior). Please let us know if you have any other problems with the site.

The schedule has been finished and is being checked and setup for the website. It was delayed until now due to some schools dropping and/or adding teams late in the schedule making progress. The schedule will be posted in the next few days.

As mentioned in the Annual Coaches Meeting a couple weeks ago, the site is currently being re-designed for this year's season. Stay tuned for some images and sneek peeks at the new design.

Note from Commissioner (Annual Coaches Meeting)

The annual SSPSL Coaches and Administrators meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 starting at 7:00 PM in the Sacred Heart School Auditorium in Weymouth. Again this year I'm holding only one meeting covering all divisions. All Head Coaches for the Senior, Junior and 5 & 6 Grade Divisions should attend along with each School's Basketball Administrator. I'm looking forward to meeting with all of you to recap last season and discuss the upcoming season. The agenda for this year's meeting is as noted below, please plan on this meeting running about 2 hours.

• Collect and/or Update coaches name, addresses and e-mail for each team

• Scheduling, cancellations, and make-ups
